Study at Brookes Shawnigan Lake
As a member of the Brookes Education Group, we offer a strong academic programme that is individualized to help each student reach their maximum potential. Students also have the opportunity to study as an exchange student at any of our other campuses. There are many choices, with Brookes campuses in Canada, Korea, the United Kingdom and the United States, plus new schools opening in India and the Russian Federation by 2018.
Unique to Brookes Shawnigan Lake is our focus on sustainability. While we support building green, we have challenged ourselves to go a step further. Brookes sits on a beautiful site and former home of the Maxwell International school. However, the school had sat unused for a few years. This presented us with an interesting challenge: how to take an existing building and make it as environmentally friendly as possible.” We have several initiatives throughout the school and are engaged with community partners to help us accomplish this laudable goal.
The boarding programme at Brookes Shawnigan Lake is focused on providing students with a supportive atmosphere to allow them to achieve success in all areas. With a strong emphasis on community, the boarding program is filled with activities and opportunities for residents to: build relationships, excel in their academics, and develop their leadership skills. Students living on campus have the advantage of being immersed in an environment that provides enough structure for a productive routine, and enough freedom to allow independence to be expressed.
