Delta School District, Delta, British Columbia
Delta School District’s 24 elementary and seven secondary schools provide safe, culturally diverse and nurturing learning environments. We offer a variety of quality programs to meet unique learning needs and we engage students in stimulating and relevant educational experiences. A dedication to social responsibility teaches our students to respect themselves, their environment and each other.
Ranking highly in student and parent satisfaction surveys, we constantly strive to build real value in education. Our graduation rates are among the highest in British Columbia and our students consistently rate near the top of the annual Foundation Skills Assessment tests. Our emphasis on achievement is reinforced every year with our annual Achievement Contract - ensuring key areas stay in focus and school resources are allocated for the maximum benefit of our students. All of these accomplishments are due as much to the dedication and hard work of teachers and staff as they are to the commitment and support of parents and the broader learning community.
In the Delta School District, our entire community is working hard to become the best district we can be. As a whole, we have identified a vision that we are now committed to achieving. By 2020, the Delta School District will be ‘A leading district for innovative teaching and learner success’.

Homestay in Delta, Inviting Global Students to Our Homes
Our homestay program is run by the school district, not a private business, so school district staff are committed to providing a safe, quality homestay for each visiting student. All home families have been screened with a criminal record check and have been inspected to ensure high quality, safe, and welcoming environments.
Students are provided with:
- A private bedroom, which includes a comfortable bed, study table, and lamp
- Bathroom and laundry facilities
- Three substantial meals a day and snacks
- Transportation to and from school if required
- Airport pick up and drop off
International students will submit the homestay profile page, which allows them to list specific requirements of a homestay family. Once a family is selected, we will email a profile with pictures and contact numbers/email address, so that new students will have more information about their host family and will be able to make initial contact prior to arrival if desired. Homestay coordinators work closely with families, students, and school coordinators to ensure that students receive consistent care through clear communication among all support providers.
