The International Student Program (ISP) is open to all students in Grade 7 to 12. The Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board serves approximately 15,100 students each day at 42 elementary and eight secondary schools. Supporting student achievement and character development is the goal of approximately 1,800 teaching and support staff.
Their efforts are enhanced by the contributions of caring parents/guardians, volunteers and community partners, who share their passion for helping students achieve success in their educational journey. The district covers a wide geographical area of 7,221 square kilometres bordered by Maynooth to the north, Deseronto to the east, Prince Edward County to the south and Quinte West to the west.
Belleville and the surrounding area is known as a destination for outdoor fun, including skiing, boating, fishing, hiking and camping. We have several museums, cultural organizations, shops, restaurants and a thriving arts community. We are surrounded by numerous universities, such as University of Toronto, Queen's University, University of Western Ontario and several community colleges.
The climate is moderate with four distinct seasons. The average winter temperature is about -8° Celsius and the average summer temperature is about 25° Celsius.
Homestay Program
Students are provided a private room, three meals daily (seven days a week) and access to laundry facilities. Each homestay applicant participates in an in-home interview, attends an orientation session, provides references and undergoes an annual criminal record check.

Secondary School Program
Currently, four schools host international students, each offering ESL credit courses and academic support. We balance and place limits on the maximum number of international students accepted to each school.
All schools offer modern computer and science labs, libraries complete with internet resource tools, indoor and outdoor athletic facilities. Courses of study include all core academic subjects with specialized programs including technology, business and cooperative education. Our full athletic program and extra curricular activities are open to all students.

Fees 2021 - 2022
Tuition is CAN$ 13,000 and is to be paid after preliminary acceptance. Tuition fees include medical insurance and student accident insurance.
Homestay program fees are CAN$ 800 per month. The first five months of the Homestay fees plus the Homestay Program Placement Fee of CAN$ 250 are due with the tuition payment. The remaining CAN$ 4,000 is due by December 15th.
There is also a one-time Administration Fee of CAN$ 250 for new applications.

- A full academic program and English as a Second Language credit courses
- Use of text books and Student activity and some athletic fees
- Support services from the ISP Academic Advisor plus Reports to parents on the student’s progress and a Tutoring Program
- TOEFL and IELTS tutoring
- Healthcare and accident insurance for one year
- Regular visits by the ISP Homestay Coordinator
- Custodianship
