Interlangues was founded in 1976 and is Ottawa’s most established and prestigious Private Language School. Located in the heart of Ottawa’s downtown business district, Interlangues is within walking distance to tourist attractions, shopping, restaurants and nightlife. Our International English Program is accredited by Languages Canada. Our standards are the same as Canadian Universities and Colleges, but set in a private school and flexible setting. Our main campus is located in the heart of downtown Ottawa, walking distance from main attractions, restaurants, shopping centers and is easily accessible by all bus routes.
Ottawa is an exciting and diverse city with a population of over one million people. As Canada's capital, Ottawa is home to several international festivals and live concerts year-round. Ottawa has many restaurants and cafes. Enjoy outdoor terraces in the summer and the cozy atmosphere in the winter. Nightlife: Ottawa offers clubs for all ages and tastes. Language School
All of our classes are taught by our highly qualified native English speaking teachers. Interlangues offers a wide range of programs and customized classes to meet students’ needs. Whether you want to study for a Half Day, Full Day or take our “Super Intensive Program”, Interlangues has what you’re looking for! We offer Group and Private classes as well as Seasonal Camps year round. All our programs include a Weekly Afternoon activity.
Our general English programs focus on all four language skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking. Our small class numbers ensure that students have a significant amount of individual attention and opportunities to speak. Various forms of Media and Language Labs are incorporated into the program to promote authentic learning.
University/College Preparation
Interlangues will fully prepare you for your post-secondary education. Whether it be Test Preparation, a particular skill focus, or subject specific vocabulary, we have the perfect program for you.
Interlangues can help you prepare for all the major English tests such as: TOEFL, TOEIC, EAP (English for Academic Purposes), IELTS, etc.
We also offer focused training on particular language skills such as:
Phonetics and Pronunciation; Academic Writing; Public Speaking
Interlangues can prepare you for specific College or University Programs with our subject specific vocabulary programs such as:
English for Law; Engineering; Petroleum Engineering; International Communication; Business English and many more.
Volunteer Opportunities
Interlangues encourages its students to become active members of our community. We help students find volunteer positions that fit in with their various interests. Students have volunteered at the Ottawa Food Bank, The Humane Society, Tree Volunteers and the Ottawa Public Library. Opportunities to volunteer can range from driving, sorting or distributing food and clothing donations, ushering events and much more.
English Activity Camps
We offer Camps all year round and tailor each program to meet your group’s expectations. Our “Build Your own Camp Program” allows you to modify your Seasonal Camps to your specifications; from accommodation (Homestay, Residence, Cottage etc.) to English Courses and Activities. We organize a variety of afternoon activities with different price ranges.
