Bodwell’s Summer Programs, Vancouver, British Columbia

Locations

Since 1992, Bodwell’s University Summer Programs has been a leader in educational and exciting summer programs for youth ages 7-17. Participation in our programs is an unforgettable experience that participants come back to year after year.

ACADEMIC PREPARATION PROGRAM

APP is an introduction to the Canadian high school curriculum for students ages 13-17. Using a theme-based approach to create an engaging learning environment, students will improve their English skills rapidly.

Classes include mathematics, science, social studies and fine arts, as well as physical education. The program eases students into the new academic year by setting the standard of expectation reserved for the high school program.

APP offers a variety of excursions in and around the city of Vancouver. Excursions allow students to learn outside the classroom and experience Canada’s culture and people. Students will visit famous landmarks, attractions and become familiar with the city.

Boarding

The program utilizes the high school’s on-site boarding residence, with rooms accommodating 2-4 students. Bedrooms have breathtaking views of either the waterfront to the south or the mountains to the north. There are student lounges with audio-visual equipment, computers, and a kitchenette for snacks. The residence is managed by our experienced live-in directors and supervisors. Three nutritious meals and an evening snack are provided by the school cafeteria each day.

GLOBAL LEADERSHIP TRAINING PROGRAM

Bodwell’s 2024 Global Leadership Training Program is coming up from July 1 to August 7, 2024. We would like to attract interested and motivated young people, age 21 and older, from around the world to Vancouver, BC, Canada.

Prior to the start of the program, selected applicants will receive 6 days of orientation and training workshops to develop their skills. Following that, they will supervise and guide participants in our summer program located at Bodwell High School for four weeks.

During this process, they are mentored by our program managers and supported in teamwork by experienced camp counsellors.

Bodwell will cover all costs of the five weeks’ stay, including training, accommodation, meals, medical insurance, activities and excursions.

Leaders are responsible only for their airfare to and from Vancouver. We will be providing participants with an International Travel Allowance to contribute to the cost of travelling to Vancouver.

Selected applicants will have five weeks in the summer to discover Canadian culture and learn about global and leadership issues. They will have the opportunity to live and make friends in a very multi-cultural environment, as well as obtain training through workshops and practical experience.

They will also develop their leadership skills by guiding children and teenagers from over 25 countries through a wide variety of activities and excursions in our Summer Program in Vancouver.
