Delta School District Lacrosse Academy
The Lacrosse Academy at Delta Secondary is an example of Delta’s commitment to offering choice programs that enable learners to engage in their passion during the school day. Open to males and females in Grades 8 – 12. The students have two blocks in a student’s timetable to play and train for Lacrosse; the blocks occur every other afternoon.
Lacrosse, considered to be America's first sport, was born of the North American Indian, christened by the French, and adapted and raised by the Canadians. Modern lacrosse has been embraced by athletes and enthusiasts of the United States and the British Commonwealth for over a century.
An exhilarating sport, lacrosse is fast-paced and full of action. Long sprints up and down the field with abrupt starts and stops, precision passes and dodges are routine in men's and women's lacrosse. Lacrosse is played with a stick, the crosse, which must be mastered by the player to throw, catch and scoop the ball.

A few yearrs ago we changed our schools to a Quarter system. We now have 4 intake dates: Quarter 1 - September; Quarter 2 - November; Quarter 3 - February and Quarter 4 - April. The additional intakes will allow additional flexibility for our students.
