• International Students in Canada 20-hour Work Cap Lifted

  

  From November 15, 2022, until December 31, 2023, international students who are in Canada and who have off-campus work authorization on their study permit will not be restricted by the 20-hour-per-week rule. Foreign nationals who have already submitted a study permit application, as of today, will also be able to benefit from this temporary change, provided their application is approved.
  
  Study permit holders are still expected to balance their study and work commitments, as those who stop studying or reduce course loads to only study part-time are not eligible to work off-campus.

  Experience Vancouver in the winter! While the city of Vancouver rarely gets snow (the average daytime temperatures range from 0-10° celsius) the mountains nearby get a lot of snow, making it the perfect spot to learn to ski or snowboard. • Good news from Sooke Schools Victoria, Vancouver Island, British Columbia

  

  We wanted to share some good news with you today: We have recently re-hired our Health and Wellness Coordinator, a position that has been vacant since the beginning of the pandemic. The intent of the position is to support the overall health and wellness of our international students -- whether they are having a difficult time adjusting to their new environment, experiencing periods of homesickness or culture shock, needing to navigate the medical system and need some extra assistance, needing to access external supports such as counselling, etc. We greatly missed this position while it was vacant, and are thrilled to have hired the newest member of our team!
