Fulford Academy in Brockville Canada opens new dorm
Fulford Academy has officially opened its new dorm. This new residence boasts a double-sized gymnasium, kitchen facilities on each of the three floors, as well as common areas with new multimedia systems and fitness equipment. This is a wonderful facility that our students are now taking advantage of and they loved this new space!

Camosun College International Students Awarded Academic Scholarships
Nine international students received CAN$ 1,000 Academic Advancement Scholarships for their outstanding achievements at Camosun College. The scholarships are annual awards administered by Camosun International and funded by the Camosun College Foundation. Interested students filled out a formal application form, which were subjected to review by CI staff members. Applicants had to be full-time students with a high Grade Point Average (GPA) and currently enrolled in a Camosun program.

A crew of students from Canada’s esteemed experiential education programme, Class Afloat, is in Amsterdam to begin a life-changing school year aboard the majestic Dutch tall ship Gulden Leeuw. For these students, the ship will be their home and classroom for the next 9 months. They will study a full academic program while sailing a tall ship to 17 ports of call on 4 continents, where they will participate in voluntary service projects, experience local cultural traditions and visit historic sites.

British Columbia K12 International Student Homestay Guidelines
Last week, the British Columbia (Canada) Ministry of Education released the updated BC K-12 International Student Homestay Guidelines. This document was compiled by a group of K-12 school district, independent school and Ministry of Education representatives, and is a result of the hard work developed between October 2014 and June 2015. It provides international students and their parents with some guidelines to help them understand how k-12 homestays operates in BC.

We are happy to announce new program start dates for 2016. We will be offering both Diploma and Certificate Programs with monthly intakes! Our Career Programs will equip students with the knowledge and skills needed for a career in tourism, hospitality or customer service industry. Students will develop customer relations skills, product and industry knowledge, professional and leadership skills, and important “soft” skills including teamwork, problem solving, self-management, intercultural communication and collaboration.

Pan Am-themed citizenship ceremony leads the torch’s arrival at Nathan Phillips Square. Canada’s Citizenship and Immigration Minister Chris Alexander personally welcomed fifty new citizens from 14 countries as new Canadians today at a special sport-themed citizenship ceremony. The ceremony took place on the stage where the games medals are to be presented in Nathan Phillips Square.

Basketball tournament in remote Quebec community
The tournament, the first of its kind ever held in the northern Quebec First Nations community, aimed to knit together two worlds through sport and tradition. High school students from across central Quebec took part in workshops that included caribou skinning and butchering, ptarmigan plucking and ice fishing.
