Queen Margaret’s School Vancouver Island Trip Canada

Each year, Queen Margaret’s School (QMS) students travel to locations along Vancouver Island to explore, connect, and be transformed by the learning opportunities our stunning natural environment provides. From Lake Cowichan and Sooke to the rugged beauty of Strathcona Provincial Park, our youth build a deeper understanding of our impact on the environment. These future leaders come to comprehend the fragility of our natural spaces—inspiring them to become knowledgeable stewards for the future.

QMS students can successfully enjoy the wilds with confidence through participation in our Outdoor Education and Nature Lab courses where they learn how to build fires, erect dry shelters, navigate waterways, cook outdoors and become familiar with identifying BC wildlife. These trips create memories that last a lifetime!

In our classrooms, late autumn has been an interesting time for students as they; engaged in robotics, stretched their creativity in the culinary arts, explored future jobs at our Career Day, challenged their public speaking skills at a Model United Nations competition, collaborated on entrepreneurship projects, researched the effects of mindfulness on the human brain in AP Psychology and celebrated QMS school spirit with a dynamic pep rally.
