Edward Milne Community School in Sooke (Victoria Island, Canada)

Applications for the second semester 2020-2021 will be closed on November 15, 2020 (or earlier, if our limited spaces are filled).

This is what the Edward Milne Community School (EMCS) has to offer, the “Top 5” reasons why students might want to consider EMCS as an option for second semester:

  1. COURSES: EMCS offers a great variety of courses, such as Soccer Academy, Film, Culinary Arts, Musical Theatre, Psychology, Robotics, Computer Programming, and many more! Note that the Soccer Academy at EMCS takes place in second semester.
  2. NATURE: The natural surroundings in Sooke are breathtaking! During these times, we are so fortunate to have an abundance of nature and outdoor opportunities at our doorstep. Hiking, mountain biking, and kayaking are just some of the outdoor activities that students can easily take part in when living in Sooke.
  3. PROXIMITY TO VICTORIA AND WESTSHORE: Sooke is a 40-minute drive to downtown Victoria. The entire area is accessible by public transportation, and there is a public bus stop right in front of EMCS.
  4. SOOKE COMMUNITY: The community of Sooke has much to offer! There are different recreational and leisure activities to take part in, although many of these will be operating under new COVID19 guidelines, as per public health directives.
  5. GREAT OPPORTUNITIES TO INTEGRATE: EMCS is our smallest high school, with a total student population of around 700 students. The international program at EMCS is also smaller, typically around 50-60 students (and this year, likely between 20-30 students by the second half of the school year). Our international students tend to integrate very well into the school community, in part due to these smaller numbers, and report very positive experiences and friendships that they are able to form with local students.

Fees for the high school programmes: CAN$ 12,675 for the second semester (2020-2021)
